Remote Learning

Our staff team have worked incredibly hard to set up home learning systems over the last 24 hours.  As you know, home learning is slightly different from last year’s lockdown in that it is now compulsory for children to complete the learning that is set for them to the best of their ability.

Please find below an outline of our Remote Learning Plan. This will give you information on how you and your child can access learning from home.

Children can access their learning through:

Google Classroom- teachers will set English and Maths work here every morning.
1 piece of other subject (art, science, topic etc) work will be set in the afternoon for KS2.
Filmed lessons – dependent on each teacher
In KS1 teachers will sign post other activities for the children to do in the afternoon if they wish.
Early Years will continue to use Tapestry.
Teachers will give general feedback on the learning on the Google Classroom site.
Home learning may be set in a variety of different forms, reading, watching a film, written tasks, worksheets etc.
On a daily basis, teachers will use Class Dojo to contact parents between 8 a.m. and 8.15 a.m. to check in and signpost learning tasks.
Class web pages will display the curriculum but will not be used to set learning

Please could any work set be ‘turned in’ on the same day it is set, unless otherwise stated by the class teacher.

Technical Difficulties?

Don’t panic!

Let your class teacher know and we will endeavour to solve the problem- if possible.

This is a new system for all of us, so don’t worry if things go wrong; there are bound to be some ‘hiccups ‘along the way!

Thank you as always for your support.
