Gillingham Area Football Tournament
Due to the large number of footballers in Years 5 and 6 we entered 2 teams into this competition. Luckily the 2 teams were drawn in different groups so didn’t have to face each other. The B team played fantastically well in their group with a record of won 1 drawn 2 lost 1 to finish 3rd, this put them into the 5th 6th place play off which they then drew to finish joint 5th (out of 10 teams).
The A team won all of their group games, including a 7 – 0 and 5 – 0 win to top their group. In a closely fought semi we overcame Motcombe to reach the final. In the final we played Wyke ,who we had drawn with in the group stages, unfortunately this time they were just too strong for us and they won 1-0 meaning that we finished 2nd overall. Both teams showed fantastic team spirit and sporting behaviours as usual.
